The article was quoted in the U.S. News and World Report article, ‘Could Texting Be Good for Students?‘. Another article is published by Sunbury, Pa’s The Daily Item, ‘Chatspeark has not dulled kids’ grammar, spelling skills’. Collaborative Cooking – Will it work? Will you like it?

Time magazine had an article, ‘Cooking by Committee: New sites try to do to recipes what Wikipedia did to encyclopedia entries. Will it fly with food?’. The article introduced us to Foodista.com and ‘the receipe section of Wikia.com‘ that:
‘allow users to post new recipes and revise existing ones any way they want forming a great burger consensus’.

Okay, we can stop there. How do YOU like your burger? Medium, rare, or as I like it ‘well to burnt’. It seems it will be difficult to colloaborate on ’single recipes’ with so many regional differences, etc. For example: barbecue in North Carolina is pork but in Texas it is beef. Heck, we can’t even decide what is the right sauce in North Carolina with half of the state preferring a tomato-based sauce and the other half preferring a vinegar-based sauce. And what are those South Carolinians thinking with that mustard-based sauce?

Should be interesting! Let me know what you think (about the recipe collaboration OR the barbecue).

When Tim Tebow speaks…

Well, actually he doesn’t even have to speak! ‘When Tim Tebow’s eye-black says’ something and it is unknown to it viewers it becomes a ‘Volcanic Hot Trend’ on ‘Google Trends’. You see, Tim Tebow is the quarterback for the Florida Gators college football team and the black mark below his eyes to reduce glare (I believe) said, ‘1 Thessalonians 5:18′. As Twitterer @danshanoff said, this Bible verse ‘basically says “be thankful, no matter what your situation. How appropriate” since he is making his first appearance since he received a concussion a couple of weeks ago. You never know what may show up in Google Trends but you can imagine that the number one item is seldom a Bible verse as it was tonight.

Here are some great free resources for your (or your students’) research citation.

Citation Machine.net offers ‘Son of Citation Machine’
EasyBib.com offers ‘The Automatic Bibliography & Citation Maker’ (an excellent online utility). The MLA version is FREE. There is a small fee for APA & Chicago/Turabian. Look for handy ‘downloadable reference guides’ that can be printed out.
‘The OWL at Purdue‘ University offers extensive citation resources including printable guides, instructional PowerPoints and much more.
